Marlene Triplett, age 87, of Caldwell, Ohio, died Wednesday, April 22, 2020, at The Beckett House in New Concord. She was born March 18, 1933, in Noble County, daughter of the late Paul R. and Hattie V. Kirkbride Davis. She was employed as a nursing assistant at Summit Acres Nursing Home in Caldwell and she also sold Avon products. She was a member of the First Church of Christ in Caldwell. Marlene loved to crochet and quilt, and she enjoyed collecting old dolls. She will be remembered for the Christmas angels that she made which adorn many Christmas trees in the homes of family and friends.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Frank J. Triplett, whom she married April 1, 1950, and who died April 12, 2001; one grandson, Ryan Triplett; one sister, Karen A. Cowgill; and two brothers, Russell K. Davis and Gerald B. “Buckeye” Davis.
Surviving are her children, Linda Jo (Jim) Mackie of Pinellas Park, Florida, Frances Ann (Tom) Sorg of Sarahsville, Brenda V. (Brad) Estadt of Duncan Falls, Jeffrey A. (Ellen) Triplett, Frank R. (Judy) Triplett, and Gerald W. Triplett, all of Caldwell, and Brian K. (Tina) Triplett of Lore City; 19 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; 6 great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
Friends may call Friday, April 24, 2020, from 4-8PM at McVay-Perkins Funeral Home, 416 East Street, Caldwell. For public safety, guests will be required to wear a mask and social distancing will be practiced by allowing 10 visitors at a time according to state guidelines. A private funeral service will be observed with Pastor Dale Hunt officiating. Burial will follow at Olive Cemetery in Caldwell.
