Obituary for Marjorie P. Cunningham
Marjorie P. Cunningham, age 93, of Lower Salem, Ohio died Saturday, June 24, 2006, at Summit Acres Nursing Home, Caldwell. She was born March 8, 1913, in Elk Twp., Noble County, Ohio, daughter of the late Richard Edward and and Anna Lucretia Andrews Carnal. She was a 1931 graduate of Harriettsville High School and was employed for thirty years as the head housekeeper for Marietta College. She was a member of the former Harriettsville United Methodist Church until the flood of 1998, after which she transferred her membership to the Lower Salem United Methodist Church. She was a member of the Masterton Chapter #584 Order of the Eastern Star, where she served as Past Matron. Mrs. Cunningham loved to cook, quilt, and crochet. Besides her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Virgil Harland Cunningham, whom she married December 24, 1931, and who died December 23, 2000; two sons, Richard Edward and James Howard Cunningham; one daughter-in-law, Martha Ida Cunningham; one son-in-law, Ronald L. Love; two grandsons, Randy Cunningham and Aaron Tate Love; one sister, Blanche Carnal; and three brothers, Lewis, James, and Glen Carnal. Surviving are one daughter, Faye Love of Lower Salem; one daughter-in-law, Mary Ellen Cunningham of Pinehurst, Ohio; two sisters, Mrs. Mark (Mary) Daniels of Lower Salem and Mildred M. Franks of Barberton; one sister-in-law, Rosalie Anderson of Hillsboro, North Dakota; 12 grandchildren: Dave Cunningham of Mineral Ridge, Marilyn Kehl of Beverly, Carolyn Bailey of St. Marys, West Virginia, Cindy Schott of Whipple, Ryan Cunningham of Newport, Debra Haney of Lewisville, Mitch Love of Florence, South Carolina, and Michael Love, Douglas Love, Lisa Love, Landon Love, and Stacy Love, all of Lower Salem; 24 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-granddaughter, and one great-great-grandchild to be born. Friends may call Monday, June 26, 2006, from 6-8PM and Tuesday, June 27, from 2-4 and 6-8PM at McVay-Perkins Funeral Home, Caldwell, where the service will be Wednesday, June 28, at 1PM. Burial will follow at Salem Twp. Cemetery in Lower Salem. Order of the Eastern Star service will be conducted Tuesday evening at 7PM.
