Obituary for Marilyn 'Kay' Garvin
Marilyn “Kay” Garvin, age 70, of Three Forks, Noble County, Ohio, passed away Sunday, December 15, 2013, at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus. She was born February 19, 1943, in Muskingum County, daughter of the late Robert M. and Ruth E. Parkinson Thompson. She was a member of the Keithtown United Methodist Church, and she enjoyed cooking, sewing, reading, and bird watching. She also enjoyed long visits in Canada with her husband, Ron. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by one brother, Larry D. Thompson. Surviving are her husband,, Ronnie E. Garvin, whom she married May 1, 1981; three step-children, Fonda (Aaron) Mettler of Dexter City, Ronnie Lee (Julie) Garvin and Trent Garvin, both of Caldwell; her grandchildren, Amanda Mettler (Lee Orahood) of Canfield, Josh Mettler of Macksburg, Austin Mettler of Dexter City, Tommee Garvin of Marietta, and Faith and Hunter Garvin, both of Caldwell; two great-grandchildren, Macey Sue Mettler and Colter Aaron Orahood; three sons, Dale, Rodney, and Randy Archer; two brothers, Mitchell (Patricia) Thompson of Norfolk, Virginia, and Michael (Joan) Thompson of York, Pennsylvania; three sisters, Francie (Danny) Nutt of Mt. Vernon, Dorothy (Warren) Hurley of Zanesville, and Martha (David) Bond of Vestal, New York; one sister-in-law, Anita Thompson; and several nieces and nephews. No visitation or funeral service will be observed. McVay-Perkins Funeral Home, 416 East Street, Caldwell, is caring for the family.
