Obituary for Marilyn J. Kearns
Marilyn J. Kearns, age 85, of Caldwell, Ohio, died Wednesday, April 30, 2008, at Layfayette Point Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in West Layfayette, Ohio. She was born December 12, 1922, in Hollister, Ohio, daughter of the late Vera Lewis and step-daughter of the late Carroll Eddy. She was a 1940 graduate of Glouster High School, and she was a homemaker all of her life. She married her husband, the late Frank Kearns, on April 5, 1941, and together they lived in several areas where Frank was employed. Wherever she lived, she served the Lord and her church in many different capacities. Her husband preceded her in death on June 12, 2000. In addition to her husband and parents, she is preceded in death by a son-in-law, Jim Greten; a great-grandson, Adam Meek; and a sister, Enid Hand. Surviving are one daughter, Linda (Bill) Murphy of Fresno; two sons, Terry (Nancy) Kearns of Wilmington, North Carolina, and Roger Kearns of Richmond, Kentucky; six granddaughters, Diane (Kevin) Meek of Coshocton, Marcia Kearns of Wilmington, North Carolina, Michelle (Don) Kubeck of Wilmington, North Carolina; Kelli (Travis) Alberts of New Philadelphia, Laura Kearns of Richmond, Kentucky, and Kristin Kearns of Lexington, Kentucky; eight great-grandchildren, Kendall, Kassidy, and Kristian Meek of Coshocton, Cameron, Alexandra, and Ashlyn Alberts of New Philadelphia, and Madeline and Jackson Kubeck of Wilmington, North Carolina; and one sister, Carolyn Eddleblute of Caldwell. Friends may call Monday, May 5th, 2008, from 11AM-1PM at McVay-Perkins Funeral Home, 416 East Street, Caldwell, where the funeral service will follow visitation at 1PM with Pastor Chris Cutsall officiating. Burial will follow at Olive Cemetery, Caldwell. Memorial contributions may be made to the Fresno Bible Church Building Fund, 24629 SR 93, Fresno, Ohio, 43824.
