Obituary for Marguerite L. Wikander
Because of her faith in Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior, Marguerite L. Wikander was welcomed into the arms of Jesus on Sunday evening, November 5, 2006, while resting in her recliner at home, listening to her favorite radio station, BBN. Marguerite was born March 10, 1917, in Muskegon, Michigan, daughter of the late Joseph and Inez Roebuck. She graduated as an RN from Hackley School of Nursing in Hackley, Michigan, before marrying her husband of sixty years, Roy E. Wikander. She had been a long time resident of Caldwell. She was the mother of 12 children, 29 grandchildren, and 37 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy E. Wikander, who was the former pastor at First Baptist Church in Caldwell, where he served for 18 years; two children, David J. (Sara Bond) Wikander, and Julia A. (Jerry) Robinson; four grandchildren, and one great-grandchild, who welcomed her home. Surviving are her remaining children, Ruth Bonar of Spanaway, Washington, Mary (Jerry) Simpson of Sachse, Texas, Sharon (Terry) McConnell of Caldwell, Dan (Alice) Wikander of Murphy, Texas, John (Sandy) Wikander of Eatonville, Washington, Anna (Mark) Hildebrand of Timblin, Pennsylvania, Beth (Barry) Snyder of New Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, James Russell 'Jim' Wikander of the home, Steve Wikander of New Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, and Tom (Laurie) Wikander of Fairmont City, Pennsylvania. Her children were the legacy of their parents' faith, and will one day join them. Marguerite was a member of the New Harmony Baptist Church, where she faithfully attended. Friends may call Wednesday, November 8, 2006, from 2-4 and 7-9PM at McVay-Perkins Funeral Home, Caldwell, where funeral services will be held Thursday, November 9, at 11AM with Pastor David Denny officiating. Burial will follow at Dudley Cemetery.
