Margaret A. “Margie” Morgareidge, age 88, of Caldwell, Ohio, died Saturday, March 30, 2024, at Altercare Summit Acres. She was born March 12, 1936, in Caldwell, daughter of the late Edward and Margaret Daniels Ickes. Margie was a 1955 graduate of Caldwell High School. She retired as a secretary from Caldwell Exempted Village Schools following over 30 years of service. She was a former member of Noble County Business and Professional Women and Noble County Performing Arts. Margie was a member of the First Baptist Church in Caldwell. She was the matriarch of her family.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, George P. Morgareidge, whom she married February 24, 1957, and who died July 23, 2011; one son, George A. Morgareidge, who died June 3, 2020; one sister, Sarah Bruce; and five brothers, Mervin, Jim, Joe, Bobby, and Max Ickes.
Surviving are her daughter, Lana S. (Andy) Varhola of Belle Valley; daughter-in-law, Cheryl D. Morgareidge of Caldwell; 5 grandchildren, Jeremy Morgareidge, Jordan Wilson, Jessica (Brady) Wilson, David Varhola, and Angela (Matt) Reynolds; 2 step-grandchildren, Joshua Eibel and Brian “BJ” Johnson; 9 great-grandchildren; 1 step-great-grandchild; 2 great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call Friday, April 5, 2024, from 4-8PM at McVay-Perkins Funeral Home, 416 East Street, Caldwell, where the funeral service will be observed Saturday, April 6, 2024, at 11AM with Pastor Jay Workman officiating. Burial will follow at Olive Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Pine Lake Bible Camp, c/o First Baptist Church, P.O. Box 292, Caldwell, Ohio, 43724.
