Obituary for Malcolm R. Badertscher
Malcolm R. Badertscher, age 60, of Caldwell, Ohio, formerly of Findlay, passed into eternity at his home on April 10, 2019, surrounded by his wife and children. He was born March 18, 1959, son of the late Milton and Rosa Nell Jones Badertscher, Jr. On September 4, 1982, Malcolm married his sweetheart, Brenda Michele Gross, and they most recently celebrated their 36th wedding anniversary. They started their family in Findlay, raising three children in the village of Arlington: Rachel, Rebecca, and David. Malcolm worked for the Cooper Tire and Rubber Company for 34 years until his retirement at the end of 2012. Upon his retirement, he and Brenda moved to Sharon. He loved to farm, planting seeds and raising animals. Malcolm loved his family greatly and enjoyed taking them on trips all over the country. He enjoyed playing with his grandchildren: Addison, Kendra, Gabrielle, and Theodore Falb, and Bridgette and Lexxie Watkins. Though only for three short months of his life, Logan Watkins had a special place in his Grampa’s heart. Malcolm’s greatest love was for his Saviour and his little fellowship meeting he met with each week.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his grandson, Logan, and his father-in-law, Charles Gross.
Surviving are his wife, Brenda M. Gross Badertscher; his three children, Rachel (Nathan) Falb of Wooster, Rebecca (Darren) Watkins of Caldwell, and David Badertscher of Stow; his siblings, Marjorie Badertscher of Findlay, Jim (Georgia) Badertscher of Rawson, and Rosemary (Milan) Larson of Jenera; 6 grandchildren; his mother-in-law, Minnie Gross of Caldwell; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
