Madison E. Khune, age 84, of Pleasant City, Ohio, died Friday, June 8, 2007, at SE Ohio Regional Medical Center, Cambridge, Ohio. He was born April 26, 1923, in Hiramsburg, Noble County, Ohio, son of the late Leonard and Mabel Jordan Khune. He was a World War II United States Army veteran, having served in the European Theatre. He was employed as a steel worker for Foote Mineral in Cambridge. Mr. Khune was a member of USWA, the Buffalo VFW, and the AMVETS of Pleasant City. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, feeding the ducks in Buffalo, and buying and selling cars. He was a friend to everyone. He is preceded in death by two brothers, Jasper and Bill Khune. Surviving are his wife, Mary M. Buckey Khune, whom he married August 15, 1945; three daughters, Mary Ann (Alan) Moore of Pleasant City, Nancy K. Clark of Florida, and Dixie L. Khune of Pleasant City; three sons, Terry M. (Patti) Khune of Chandlersville, Larry E. (Marlene) Khune of Pleasant City, and Ted (Patty) Khune of Cambridge; two sisters, Sheba Drake of Canton and Violet Rader of Woodsfield; 16 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Friends may call Sunday, June 10, 2007, from 2-4 and 7-9PM at McVay-Perkins Funeral Home, Caldwell, where the funeral service will be held Monday, June 11 at 11AM with Pastor Roger Morrow officiating. Burial will follow at Halleys Ridge Cemetery, Ava, where military graveside services will be conducted by the Noble County Veteran Services Organizations.
