Obituary for Louie Viola Clark
Louie Viola Clark, age 88, of Caldwell, Ohio, died Saturday, July 5, 2008, at SE Ohio Regional Medical Center in Cambridge, Ohio. She was born October 23, 1919, in Ava, daughter of the late Homer and Mary Moffett Trenner. On July 20, 1940, she was married to William Jacob Clark, and together they made their home and raised their children near Ava. Following her husband's death in 1985, Mrs. Clark moved to Caldwell, where she resided at Willow Arms for 13 years. During this time, she volunteered for The Samaritan House and for the Shenandoah Elementary School's Grandparent Program. Most recently, she resided at Beckett House in New Concord. She was a lifelong member of the Ava United Methodist Church and she was the treasurer of the Ava chapter of the Women's Christian Temperance Union for many years. In addition to her parents and her husband, she is preceded in death by two sisters, Lela Larrick and Daisy Pickenpaugh; and one brother, William Trenner. Surviving are her children, Elizabeth (Doug) Filson of Midland, Michigan, Sandra (David) Carter of Pleasant City, Peg (Lynn) Zerkle of Cumberland, and William B. (Maryann) Clark of Caldwell; eight grandchildren, Laura (Scott) Hime, James (Brandi) Filson, John Filson, Angela Carter, Erin (Trevor) Brenick, Samuel (Erica) Zerkle, Jacob Zerkle, and Jack Zerkle; four great-grandchildren, Megan, Elizabeth, Ellie, and Lauren; two sisters-in-law, Margaret (Peg) Williams and Betty Clark; and many nieces and nephews. Friends may call Sunday, July 6, 2008, from 4-8PM at McVay-Perkins Funeral Home, 416 East Street, Caldwell, where the funeral service will be held Monday, July 7th at 11AM with Pastor Jay Loucks and Lynn Zerkle officiating. Burial will follow at Halley's Ridge Cemetery near Ava. Memorial contributions may be made to Faith Baptist Church, P.O. Box 187, Belle Valley, Ohio, 43717.
