Obituary for Loren R. Davis
Loren R. Davis, age 77, of Pleasant City, Ohio, died Friday, March 25, 2016, at his home. He was born March 26, 1938, in Caldwell, son of the late Floyd and Mildred Cale Davis. He was a 1956 graduate of Sarahsville High School, and he was a United States Army veteran and a member of the Ohio Army National Guard. Mr. Davis retired as a tool maker from the former Mahle Corporation plant in Caldwell, and he was a member of The Center in Sarahsville. He loved hunting, especially deer and turkey, and he loved gardening.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by one grandson, Easten Argyl Mudge; and one sister, Thelma B. Rochus.
Surviving are his wife, Joyce A. Vorhies Davis, whom he married July 21, 1990; his children, Glenn Mudge of Pleasant City, Betsy M. LeBeau of Coshocton, Verne A. (Heidi) Mudge of Johnstown, Elaine L. (Stephen) Warner of Byesville, and Laura A. (Mike) Gayheart of Newark; one sister, Norma Jane Smith of Pleasant City; 11 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call Monday, March 28, 2016, from 2-8PM at McVay-Perkins Funeral Home, 416 East Street, Caldwell, where the funeral service will be observed Tuesday, March 29th at 11AM with Pastor Nate Gibbons officiating. A military graveside service will follow at the Center Free Methodist Cemetery in Sarahsville conducted by the Ohio Army National Guard.
