Obituary for Lore Karoline Vincenzo Dyer
Lore Karoline Vincenzo Dyer, age 88, of Cambridge, Ohio, formerly of Caldwell, died Thursday, March 15, 2012, at The Beckett House in New Concord. She was born March 19, 1923, in Germany, daughter of the late Fredrick and Caroline Marie Falch Pfleuger. During World War II, she was a 'Rosie the Riveter' welder on Victory ships in San Francisco. She was formerly employed by Noble County Head Start as an office assistant, by H&R Block as a tax preparer, and she drove a bus for the Noble County Senior Center. She was a member of Noble County Senior Citizens. and a member of Center Free Methodist Church, where she had served as a lay minister. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her first husband, Adolph R. Vincenzo, who died in 1964; her second husband, Ted E. Dyer, who died in 1982; one son, Randy Vincenzo; one daughter-in-law, Donna Vincenzo; one son-in-law, Darrel Sorg; and three brothers. Surviving are her children, Sarah O. (Joe) Somers of Cambridge, Mary C. Sorg of Sarahsville, Grace S. Vincenzo of Cincinnati, Wayne B. (Susan) Vincenzo of Sarahsville, and Larry R. Vincenzo of Steubenville; one sister, Hilda Johnson of California; 9 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Friends may call Sunday, March 18, 2012, from 12PM-2PM at McVay-Perkins Funeral Home, 416 East Street, Caldwell, where the funeral service will follow at 2PM with Paul Reynolds officiating. Burial will follow at Olive Cemetery in Caldwell.
