Lola Irene Boney, age 95, of Caldwell, Ohio, died Saturday, January 6, 2024, at The Beckett House at New Concord. She was born June 20,1928, in Dexter City, daughter of the late Clarence and Edna Addlesburger Schneeberger. Irene was a 1949 graduate of Dexter City High School and graduated from cosmetology school in Akron. She owned and operated Irene’s Hair Salon on Chapel Drive for many years. She was a longtime member of New Harmony Baptist Church and attended Ragans Chapel. She loved to read the Bible and watch various ministers on television. Irene was devoted to her family.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Jacob Irvil Boney, whom she married November 7, 1964, and who died July 29, 2014; an infant brother, David Schneeberger; one sister, Kathryn Boyd; and two brothers, George F. “Fred” Schneeberger and Paul E. Schneeberger.
Surviving are her daughter, Lola L. (David) Todd of Caldwell, with whom she made her home for several years; her grandchildren, Jacob Lee Darnell (Cole Hall) of Littleton, Colorado, and Alisha (Pastor Andrew) Thompson of Caldwell; her brother Raymond Schneeberger of Caldwell; several nieces and nephews; and special friends, James and Beth Ann Miley and family.
Friends may call Thursday, January 11, 2024, from 11AM-1PM at McVay-Perkins Funeral Home, 416 East Street, Caldwell, where the funeral service will follow visitation at 1PM. Burial will follow at Dudley Cemetery.
