Obituary for Lloyd Paul "L.P." Davis
Lloyd Paul “L.P” Davis, age 56, of Sarahsville, Ohio, died unexpectedly Friday, November 13, 2020, in Wyandot County, Ohio. He was born January 30, 1964, in Cambridge, son of the late Russell K. Davis and the late Joyce Clymer Davis. He was a 1982 graduate of Caldwell High School, where he lettered in wrestling and went to the state meet. He was self-employed as an over-the-road truck driver, and for the past 30 years leased through R&J Trucking in Marietta. L.P. loved camping at Stonehouse Campground in Lowell. He was a fan of wrestling and Ohio State Buckeye football, and he enjoyed going to dirt track and stock car races. He loved playing marbles on Friday nights with his cousin Niki as his partner, and he enjoyed playing Uno.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Russell W. “Rusty” Davis; his brother-in-law, Terry W. Yeaples; and his beloved big fella, Luke P. Studly, a lab mix.
Surviving are his wife, Diana M. Yeaples Davis, whom he married June 22, 2012; several cousins, including Melissa J. Leasure, Melinda R. Baker, Marica V. Brown, and Gerald B. Davis, Jr.; his in-laws, Donald S. Yeaples, David A. Yeaples, Karen S. Zelic, Ronda K. Lattanzio, Gail R. Jordan, and Judy L. Howell; several nieces and nephews; special friends; and his beloved dogs, Patsy Cline Davis, a black lab mix, and Minnie Pearl Davis, a beagle mix.
Friends may call Friday, November 20, 2020, from 4-7PM at McVay-Perkins Funeral Home, 416 East Street, Caldwell, where the funeral service will follow visitation at 7PM with Pastor Larry Copley officiating. Guests are required to wear masks and practice social distancing as required by the state of Ohio. Memorial contributions may be made to Akron Children’s Hospital in honor of L.P’s niece, Emily J. Howell at www.akronchildrens.org
