Obituary for Linda C. Hickman
Linda C. Hickman, age 67, of Caldwell, Ohio, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Saturday, November 1, 2014, at her home. She was born February 27, 1947, in Atmore, Alabama, daughter of the late Otis and Ruby Townsend Gibson. She was a Creek Indian from the Porch Reservation in Porch, Alabama. She was formerly employed by LDM and Hamilton-Beach Scoville, both in Byesville, and by Weather Seal in Caldwell. Mrs. Hickman was an active member of the Church of God of Prophesy in Cambridge, and she volunteered many years at The Samaritan House in Caldwell. She enjoyed going to yard sales, working in her yard and gardening, and collecting angels.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by one sister, Peggy Fowler; one brother, Otis Gibson; and her mother and father-in-law, Kenneth and Betty Hickman.
Surviving are her loving husband of 47 years, Kenneth R. “Ronnie” Hickman; two sons, Kenneth “Danny” (Donna) Hickman and Jason (Laura) Hickman, both of Caldwell; four brothers, Leo (Janice) Gibson of Caldwell, Billy (Sue) Gibson of Pace, Florida, Leon Gibson of McCollough, Alabama, and Gary Gibson of Atmore, Alabama; four sisters, Audrey (Joe) Ward of Gonzalez, Florida, Nola (James) Burnham of Mossey Head, Florida, Julie Foster of McCollough, Alabama, and Joyce Neuss of Huntsville, Alabama; two sisters-in-law, Debbie (Jack) Hansis of Marietta and Joyce Hickman Young of Caldwell; one brother-in-law, Dewey Fowler of Century, Florida; 6 grandchildren; one great-grandson; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call Tuesday, November 4, 2014, from 3-7PM at McVay-Perkins Funeral Home, 416 East Street, Caldwell, where the funeral service will be observed Wednesday, November 5th at 1PM with Bishop Robert G. Garman officiating. Burial will follow at Halley’s Ridge Cemetery near Ava. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 927 E. Wheeling Ave., Cambridge, Ohio, 43725, or to the Church of God of Prophecy, 6045 Fairdale Dr. Cambridge, Ohio, 43725.
