Obituary for Lillian Gertrude Zeleznik
Lillian Gertrude Zeleznik, age 89, of Caldwell, Ohio, died Thursday, April 4, 2019, at The Beckett House in New Concord. She was born November 3, 1929, in Hunkadora, Noble County, daughter of the late Albert and Louise Lorey Miller. She was a member of the last graduating class of St. Ursula Academy in Caldwell. Lillian was employed over the years by Semon’s Dry Cleaning in Caldwell, Danner Press in Canton, Ball’s Market in Caldwell, and she retired as an inspector for NCR in Cambridge. She was a member of St. Stephen Catholic Church in Caldwell and its Catholic Women’s Club and choir. She was also a member of the Belle Valley Homemaker’s Club and the Belle Valley Mother’s Club. She enjoyed reading, crocheting, and baking. Lillian was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, and she was the glue who held her family together. She was devoted to her family and her church.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Michael V. Zeleznik, whom she married November 17, 1951, and who died September 26, 2005; one sister, Margie Postel; three brothers, William, Stanley, and Ronald “Butch” Miller’ and a sister-in-law, Gertrude Miller.
Surviving are her children, Deborah S. (Ernie) Yerian, Therese L. (Daniel) Terrell, and Nancy J. (Timothy) Bryan, all of Cambridge, and Katherine A. (Tim) Ellison of Lore City; her siblings, Jeannie (Ed) Fleischer of Salsbury, Maryland, Dale (Helen) Miller of New Matamoras, James (Bette) Miller of Caldwell, Joann Miller of Knoxville, Tennessee, Judy (Jack) Turner of Caldwell, and Robert (Brenda) Miller of Caldwell; 10 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. The family would like to thank Lillian’s caregivers at The Beckett House and Summit Acres Nursing Home.
Friends may call Friday, April 5, 2019, from 4-8PM at McVay-Perkins Funeral Home, 416 East Street, Caldwell where a Christian Scripture service will conclude visitation at 8PM. Funeral Liturgy with Mass will be observed Saturday, April 6th at 10:30AM at St. Stephen Catholic Church in Caldwell with Rev. Fr. Wayne Morris as celebrant. Burial will follow at Mt.
