Obituary for Lewis R. Glidden
Lewis R. Glidden, age 66, of Caldwell, Ohio, formerly of Canton, died Wednesday, October 8, 2008, at SE Ohio Regional Medical Center, Cambridge, Ohio. He was born December 5, 1941, in Byesville, son of the late Leonard S. and Fonda N. Rogers Glidden. He was a 1960 graduate of the former Sarahsville High School, and he was a U. S. Army veteran, having served from 1960-1963 with the military police in France. He retired as a foreman for Interstate Diesel in Cleveland. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Bonnie Jean Brown Glidden, whom he married August 15, 1964, and who died July 19, 2008; one sister, Nora Marlene Carpenter; and two brothers, Rolland E. and Robert L. Glidden. Surviving are one sister, Glenna (Charles) Kirkbride of McConnellsville; two brothers, Francis (Vicki) Glidden of Belle Valley and Theodore Glidden of Caldwell; two sisters-in-law, Diane (Matt) Svercek and Melissa (Charles) Clark, both of Caldwell; three brothers-in-law, Joseph R. (Stana) Brown, James R. (Karen) Brown, and John Thomas (Theresa) Brown, all of Caldwell; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. No visitation will be observed. A graveside service will be held Sunday, October 12, 2008, at 2PM at Olive Cemetery, Caldwell, with Ken Perkins officiating. A veterans service will be observed by the Noble County Veteran Services Organization.
