Obituary for Lester "Max" Moore

Lester “Max” Moore, age 78, of Caldwell, Ohio, died Wednesday, November 8, 2017, at his home. He was born May 16, 1939, in Mannington, West Virginia, son of the late Lester and Laura McCandless Moore. He was a United States Army veteran, having served from June 1957 to April 1965. He retired from W. S. Thomas Trucking and previously was self-employed in trucking. He was also employed by Republic Steel in Massillon from 1959-1971. Max enjoyed going out to eat and attending yard sales, and he loved his animals, especially is pig Wilbur, and his dog Romeo.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Barbara A. Tapp Moore, who died in May, 2005; one infant daughter; four sisters, Beverly Bates, Ruby Richards, Lillian Tapp, and Karen Moore; and two brothers, Tom Moore and Carl Moore.

Surviving are one daughter, Kim A. (Paul) Cross of Bucyrus; one sister, Mary Jane (Jerry) Ladrach of Millersburg; one brother, Roger (Penny) Moore of Cambridge; his sister-in-law and caregiver, Linda D. Moore of Caldwell; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A memorial gathering will be held Saturday, November 11, 2017, at 2PM at Max's home, located at 42820 Road Fork Rd., Caldwell. McVay-Perkins Funeral Home, 416 East Street, Caldwell, is caring for the family.
