Obituary for Leonard O. Hunt
Leonard O. Hunt, age 78, of Caldwell, Ohio, died Saturday, February 9, 2008, at SE Ohio Regional Medical Center in Cambridge, Ohio. He was born January 17, 1930, in Chicago, Illinois, son of the late Leonard O. and June Riley Hunt, Sr. He graduated from Augustana College, Rock Island, Illinois, with a degree in accounting and economics. He was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran, attaining the rank of staff sergeant, and for which he served in Guam for two years. He owned and operated the former K-V Stores in Caldwell, Woodsfield, and Barnesville for 20 years. He was a member of the Senecaville Presbyterian Church. He is survived by his wife, Shirley Colleen Smith Hunt, whom he married June 1, 1952; one daughter, Kimber Lea Byrd of Greeley, Colorado; one son, Kevin Leonard (Natalie) Hunt of Parma; and three grandchildren, Wesley and Thomas Byrd and Anastasia K. Hunt. Friends may call Tuesday, February 12, 2008, from 4-8PM at McVay-Perkins Funeral Home, 416 East Street, Caldwell, where the funeral service will be held Wednesday, February 13th at 1PM with Pastor Susan Hyland officiating. Burial will follow in Olive Cemetery, Caldwell, with a military graveside service conducted by the Noble County Veterans Services Organization.
