Obituary for Larry Joe Ross
Larry J. Ross, age 74, of Caldwell, Ohio, died Tuesday, June 21, 2011, at his home. He was born February 11, 1937, in Huntington, West Virginia, son of the late Lawrence and Delia Morgareidge Ross. He was raised from the age of 9 by his grandparents, the late Ed and Maude Morgareidge, and he was a 1956 graduate of Caldwell High School. Mr. Ross retired from the Ohio Department of Transportation in 1993, and he was a retired member of the Ohio National Guard. He was also a member of the Main Street Church of Christ in Caldwell. He enjoyed coin collecting, taking bus trips, and spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents and grandparents, he is preceded in death by one brother, Ronald D. Ross, who died April 9, 2011, and one son-in-law, Chris J. Farley, who died July 25, 2006.
Surviving are his wife, Vera M. Robinson Ross, whom he married on October 25, 1959; three daughters Delia A. Farley, Pamela (Paul) Withers, and Christy (Bill) Baker, all of Caldwell; one son, Edrie A. (Amanda) Ross of Caldwell; one brother, Harold Ross of West Virginia; six grandchildren; two step-granddaughters; seven great-grandchildren; three step-great-grandsons; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call Thursday, June 23, 2011, from 11AM-1PM at McVay-Perkins Funeral Home, 416 East Street, Caldwell, where the funeral service will follow at1PM with Evangelist Frank Love will officiating Burial will follow at Dudley Cemetery with Noble County Veteran Service Organizations presenting military honors.
