Larry C. Porter, age 60, of Caldwell, Ohio, died Monday, December 3, 2007, at his home of pancreatic cancer. He was born January 1, 1947, in Zanesville, Ohio, son of Iola White Porter of McConnelsville and the late Chester Porter. He graduated from Windsor High School at Stockport and the Nashville Auto-Diesel College. He was a U. S. Army veteran, having served in Germany from 1966-1968. He was retired from LWR Enterprises in Waterford, and he farmed for Leander Crock of Caldwell for ten years. He was a member of the American Legion Post #418, Dexter City, and a member of the North American Fishing Club. He enjoyed fishing and farming. In addition to his father, he is preceded in death by two infant sisters. In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Karen E. Knox Porter, whom he married March 4, 1967; four daughters, Angie (Travis) Mathieu of Reynoldsburg, Lori Schott (Tracey), Crissy (Scott) Ivey, and Monica (Ricky) Vincent, all of Caldwell; one sister, Dianna (Mike) Wood of Texas; two brothers, Jim (Kathy) Porter of Waterford and Brad Porter of Stockport; 8 grandchildren; 3 step-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Friends may call Wednesday, December 5, 2007, from 2-8PM at McVay-Perkins Funeral Home, 416 East Street, Caldwell, where the funeral service will be held Thursday, December 6th at 1PM with Pastor Jamie White officiating. A veterans graveside service will follow at Stockport Cemetery.
