L. Pearl Allbritain, age 94, of Summerfield, Ohio, died Wednesday, December 11, 2024, at her home. She was born July 20, 1930, in Summerfield, daughter of the late Roy H. and Ethel Clark Bates. Pearl was a 1949 graduate of Summerfield High School and was a homemaker. She was a member of the Summerfield Church of Christ. She enjoyed quilting, crocheting, and going to sprint car races with her husband. She was known for her delicious butterscotch pies, pineapple cookies, and homemade bread.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Dallas E. “Jinx” Allbritain, whom she married July 1, 1950, and who died November 2, 2000; two daughters, Darla M. Graves and Renee D. Graves; one great-granddaughter, Paytin Osmond; a son-in-law, Bill Veigel; and six brothers, Fred, Earl, Jack, Joe, Alva “Jeep”, and Sylvester Bert Bates.
Surviving are her children, Sandra C. (Bob) Holcomb of Summerfield, Cheryl R. Veigel of Canton, and Dale W. Allbritain of Summerfield; seven grandchildren, including Jenna Graves and Cody Graves, who were her caregivers; 11 great-grandchildren, with one to be born; a son-in-law, Jim Graves of Canton; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Friends may call Monday, December 16, 2024, from 4-8PM at McVay-Perkins Funeral Home, 416 East Street, Caldwell, where the funeral service will be observed Tuesday, December 17th at 11AM with Evangelist Jimmie Moore officiating. Burial will follow at Bates Hill Cemetery.
