Obituary for L. Clair Hughes
L. Clair Hughes, age 80, of Caldwell, Ohio, died Sunday, December 13, 2015, at his home. He was born January 16, 1935, in Noble County, son of the late Lotes and Clarice Willey Hughes. He was a 1953 graduate of Dexter City High School, and he owned and operated Clair Hughes Trucking and Hughes & Hughes Trucking for many years. He was a member of Sharon Lodge #136, F&AM. Mr. Hughes loved to play cards and watch television, and he was also an avid World War II history buff.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by one son, Scott Hughes; and one sister, June Neeley.

Surviving are his wife, Patricia A. Massey Hughes, whom he married November 4, 1993; two sons, Edward Hughes of Zanesville and Daniel Hughes of Cambridge; three step-children, Regina (Bruce) Stiztlein of Ashland, Lindburg Locklear (Monica Postlethwait) of Macksburg, and Mary (Chris) Michel of Summerfield; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, step-grandchildren, and step-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and his special piddle bottom.

Inurnment will take place at Keith Cemetery at a later time. McVay-Perkins Funeral Home, 416 East Street, Caldwell, is caring for the family.
