Obituary for Kenneth L. Nichelson
Kenneth L. Nichelson, age 77, of Caldwell, Ohio, died Saturday, October 15, 2011, at Summit Acres Nursing Home in Caldwell. He was born February 20, 1934, in Sarahsville, son of the late George Nichelson and the late Margaret Buckey. He retired from Central Ohio Coal Company, where he worked on the bull gang, and he was a member of the First Church of Christ in Caldwell. He enjoyed working with horses, primarily with Belgian horses.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Janice M. Weekley Nichelson, whom he married May 18, 1962, and who died July 26, 2011; and two sisters, Helen Pauley and Linda Masters.
Surviving are his children, Darla A. (Larry) Tucker of Painesville, Sherri A. (Shawn) Fogle of Galloway, and Dale A. Nichelson of Caldwell; two sisters, Twila (Ray) Lavy of Zanesville and Beverly Hague of Marietta; three brothers, John (Patty) Nichelson of Caldwell, Bill Nichelson of Buffalo and Frank Buckey of Cambridge; two grandchildren, Bryan Tucker and Jennifer Tucker; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Friends may call Tuesday, October 18, 2011, from 4-8PM at McVay-Perkins Funeral Home, 416 East Street, Caldwell, where the funeral service will be observed Wednesday, October 19th at 11AM with Pastor Dale Hunt and Pastor Loran Dace officiating. Burial will follow at Olive Cemetery in Caldwell. Memorial contributions may be made to the First Church of Christ, 601 North Street, Caldwell, Ohio, 43724.
