Obituary for Kenneth E. Wilson
Kenneth E. Wilson, age 83, of Summerfield, Ohio, died Friday, December 13, 2019, at his home. He was born August 2, 1936, in Senecaville, son of the late Earl and Frances Devine Wilson. He was a graduate of Liberty Union High School in Baltimore, Ohio, and proudly served his country and retired from the United States Coast Guard. He farmed and sold farm equipment for Townsend Sales, from which he retired. He was a huge supporter of the local 4-H. Ken was a devoted family man who enjoyed keeping up with the lives of his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. He started his greatest adventure when he married Carla J. Slagle on August 16, 1958. Life took them many places, having lived in Alaska, Michigan, Kentucky, Louisiana, and finally Ohio, which they called home. He lost his adventure companion on August 11, 2018.
In addition to his wife and parents, he is preceded in death by one sister, Mary Jane Allred; two brothers, William “Mike” Wilson and Thomas Wilson; and a son-in-law, Joe Cline.
He leaves behind three children: two daughters, Cheri (Michael) Stevens and Kendra Cline, both of Summerfield, and one son, Scott (Stacy) Wilson of Hebron; three brothers, Ronald (Karen) Wilson of Dresden, David (Janice) Wilson of Reynoldsburg, and Daniel (Cheryl) Wilson of Holden, Maine; two sisters, Janet Sue Wilson of Groveport and Patricia (James) Hilliker of Portland, Oregon; a sister-in-law, Karen Wilson of Caldwell; two brothers-in-law, Porter (Charlotte) Slagle of Batesville and Vaughn Slagle of Fort Lauderdale, Florida; seven grandchildren, Miranda Bourassa, Bradley Cline, Amber Chretien, Chelsea Cline, Jackie Schmeltz, Emily Stevens, and Christine Stevens; 8 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and many friends.
Friends may call Thursday, December 19, 2019 from 4-8PM at McVay-Perkins Funeral Home, 416 East Street, Caldwell, where the funeral service will be observed Friday, December 20th at 1PM with Pastor Darrell Clark officiating. A veteran’s service will be conducted by the Noble County Veteran’s Service Organizations. Inurnment will be held at a later time at Crooked Tree Cemetery.
