Obituary for Kenneth E. "Kenny" Perkins, Jr.
Kenneth E. “Kenny” Perkins, Jr., age 77, of Caldwell, Ohio, died Friday, April 8, 2016, at SE Ohio Regional Medical Center in Cambridge. He was born November 16, 1938, in Ava, son of the late Kenneth E. Perkins, Sr. and Clara Jane Miller Perkins. He was employed in his early years by Rayner’s Garage in Ava, and later worked for James Rayner Garage and Body Shop. He retired from Central Ohio Coal Company as a first class mechanic. Following retirement, he helped his son Ken at McVay-Perkins Funeral Home. Kenny was a member of Faith Baptist Church in Belle Valley, and Olive Lodge #210, F&AM at Mt. Ephraim. He enjoyed working on and restoring old cars, and he loved spending time with his family. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by one sister, Maxine Jackson.
Surviving are his wife, Kora Ellen Carr Perkins, whom he married May 10, 1958; his children, Kenneth E. (Robin) Perkins, III, of Caldwell and Patti Sue Perkins of Cambridge; one grandson, Kasey W. (Emilee) Perkins of Parma; his siblings, Eileen Butler of Caldwell, Joann (Fred) Powell of Caldwell, Sandy Clark of Delaware, Diane (Charlie) Morton of Caldwell, Teresa (Harry) Clark of Middleburg, Clayton (Virginia) Perkins of Fayetteville, North Carolina, Terry (Jeannie) Perkins of Cambridge, Mitchell (Jacquie) Perkins of Caldwell, Lynn Cox of Cambridge, Deborah Bush of Salem, Tim Buckey of Cambridge, Jim (Lora) Perkins of Pleasant City, Tom Perkins of Byesville, and Charles “Fred” Buckey of North Carolina; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Friends may call Monday, April 11, 2016, from 4-8PM at McVay-Perkins Funeral Home, 416 East Street, Caldwell, and Tuesday, April 12th from 11AM-1PM at Faith Baptist Church, 47766 Outpost Road, Belle Valley. The funeral service will be observed Tuesday at 1PM with Pastors Larry Copley, John Powell, and Charles Carr officiating. Burial will follow at Olive Cemetery in Caldwell.
