Obituary for Kathy A. Boyd
Kathy A. Boyd, age 67, of Cumberland, Ohio, formerly of Dexter City, died Saturday, December 28, 2019, at Hospice of Central Ohio at OSU Wexner Medical Center in Columbus. She was born July 22, 1952, in Zanesville, daughter of the late Albert E. and Kathryn Marie Schneeberger Boyd. She attended school in Norton, Ohio. Kathy was employed as a cook, waitress, and hostess for the former Ogle’s Restaurant in Macksburg. She also worked for Bill Stine Food Trailer, travelling to fairs and shows, and for Dairy Queen in Cumberland. She worked as a cashier for auctions with Mitchell Auctioneers and Bill Stine Auctions, and she was a volunteer for the Genealogy Room at the Caldwell Public Library, where she enjoyed doing genealogy research. She was also a babysitter to her nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. Kathy was a member of New Harmony Baptist Church in Dexter City and attended Faith Baptist Church in Belle Valley. She loved crafts of all kinds, including sewing and crocheting. She was a giving person and a devoted Christian who loved her family.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her niece, Kyla Brook Boyd.
Surviving are her siblings, Jimmie D. (Linda) Boyd of Mogadore, Nancy S. (Roger) Mitchell of Cumberland, Tim W. (Donna) Boyd of Caldwell, and Roy E. (Denise) Boyd of Pleasant City; her aunts and uncles, Irene Boney, Raymond (June) Schneeberger, Bernice Boyd, Fred Wickham, and Carol Ray; her nieces and nephews, Amanda Boyd and Katie (Scott) Beal, all of Akron, Silas (Lori) Mitchell and Daniel (Kim) Mitchell, all of Cumberland; Ashley (Brian) Wheeldin of Caldwell, Kelsey (David) Holt of Hilliard, Matthew Boyd of Caldwell, and Levi (Mary) Boyd of Cambridge; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.
Friends may call Monday, December 30, 2019, from 2-8PM at Faith Baptist Church, 200 Grove Road, Belle Valley, where the funeral service will be observed Tuesday, December 31st at 11AM with Pastor Larry Copley officiating. Burial will follow at Ogle’s Ridge Cemetery.
