Obituary for Katherine N. 'Katy' Riggs
Katherine N. Katy Riggs, age 75, of Caldwell, Ohio, died Saturday, June 26, 2010, at Marietta Memorial Hospital in Marietta, Ohio. She was born June 3, 1935, in Deep Valley, near Mannington, West Virginia, daughter of the late Charles Dwight and Mary E. Hendershot Snodgrass. She was a 1953 graduate of Caldwell High School, and she was employed by A&P in Mannington and Pittsburgh, H&R Block in Caldwell, and she was also a self-employed tax preparer. She was a member of the Main Street Church of Christ in Caldwell, and she enjoyed sewing, reading, gardening, playing the guitar and singing.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Edward Riggs; one son, Larry Edward Riggs; one daughter, Patty Ann Riggs; and one brother, Robert D. Snodgrass.
Surviving are her special friend and companion, Larry D. Anderson of Caldwell; one son, Robin L. (Penny) Riggs of Caldwell; three sisters, Anna Mae (Dave) Wolford of Caldwell, Mary Lois (Eugene) McKown of Dexter City, and Dorothy L. (Tom) Pack of Macksburg; two half-sisters, Linda and Mary Ann; two-half-brothers, Jim and Jack; one sister-in-law, Judy Snodgrass of Macksburg; two grandchildren, Allison (Jeff) Mackie and Morgan Riggs; one great-grandchild, Zoie Nell Mackie; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Friends may call Tuesday, June 29, 2010, from 2-4 and 7-9PM at McVay-Perkins Funeral Home, 416 East Street, Caldwell, where the funeral service will be observed Wednesday, June 30th at 1PM with Evangelist Craig Matheny officiating. Burial will follow at Dudley Cemetery.
