Obituary for Karen Lea Mitchell
Karen Lea Mitchell, age 66, of Marietta, Ohio, died Monday, August 27, 2012, at her home. She was born September 5, 1945, in Akron, Ohio, daughter of the late William E. and Lela S. Pile Bonar. She was a 1964 graduate of Dexter City High School. She was a homemaker who enjoyed traveling, having recently enjoyed a cruise to Alaska with her husband. She also enjoyed visiting casinos and spending time with her family and friends. She is survived by her husband, Raymond Dean Mitchell, whom she married May 18, 1964; two children, Kelley Ann (Kazemi) Mitchell of Hilliard, and Jeffery Douglas (Debbie) Mitchell of Westerville; one granddaughter, Sema A. Kazemi of Hilliard; one step-granddaughter, Misty Spicer of Los Angeles, CA; one step-grandson, Jason Spicer of Westerville; one brother, Kenneth E. and (Audrey A.) Bonar of Pleasant City; and one nephew, Darren Bonar. No calling hours will be observed. A graveside service will be observed Thursday, August 30, 2012, at 11:30AM at South Olive Cemetery near Dexter City with Pastor Jon Irvin officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Strecker Cancer Center at Marietta Memorial Hospital, 401 Matthew Street, Marietta, Ohio, 45750, or to the Beverly Volunteer Fire Department, P.O. Box 70, Beverly, Ohio, 45715. McVay-Perkins Funeral Home, 416 East Street, Caldwell, is caring for the family.
