Obituary for Karen L. Rummer
Karen Lane Rummer, age 76, of Fort Myers, Florida, passed Friday, May 15, 2015, following a long illness. She was born June 5, 1938, in Belle Valley, Ohio, daughter of the late James Harry and Lillian Blanche Lane Colley. She was a graduate of Caldwell High School and studied business in Columbus. She married Noble C. Rummer on June 7, 1959, they were married for 30 years. She worked as a bookkeeper, restaurant owner and in other areas of food industry, and she was a homemaker for over 45 years. Mrs. Rummer was actively involved with many church and assistance activities. She enjoyed traveling and reading, and she loved spending time with her family most of all.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her eight-year-old brother, Jamie T. Colley, who died in 1955.
She is survived by her children, Jason Noble Rummer, Justin Lane (R. Kellie) Rummer, Jocelyn Fay (Mark) Rummer McCleary and Jessica Ray (Glenn) Rummer Cribbett; her grandchildren, Tiffany Rummer Bell, Tara Rummer, McKenna Rummer, Jeremie Rummer, B. Danielle Rummer Seymour, Heather Rummer Billingsley, Kyle McCleary, Jesse McCleary, Clayton McCleary, Faith McCleary, Joshua Cribbett, Adam Rummer and Logan Rummer; her great-grandchildren, Harper Bell, Mercedes Karshner, McKenzie Rummer, Aston Crowder, Deija Crowder, Hallie Rummer, Trenton Seymour, Madison Seymour, and Kaiden Rummer; her cousins, Dan and Naretta Goss, and many other family and friends.
Friends may call Saturday, May 30, 2015 from 10AM-12PM at McVay-Perkins Funeral Home, 416 East Street, Caldwell, where a memorial service will follow visitation at 12PM. Mrs. Rummer’s son, Justin Rummer will present the eulogy. There will be no graveside service following the funeral, but a memorial stone will be placed where her family is buried at Olive Cemetery in Caldwell. Memorial contributions may be made to a hospice of choice. The family would like to thank hospice and all of the caring family and friends for their kindness, visits, and prayers through this difficult time.
