Obituary for Juanita E. Hughey
Juanita E. Hughey, age 94, of Macksburg, Ohio, died Monday, November 23, 2015, at her home. She was born October 24, 1921, in Macksburg, daughter of the late Albert R. and Rosa Estadt McAtee, and she was a 1939 graduate of Macksburg High School. She was a homemaker, and she was a member of St. Stephen Catholic Church in Caldwell and the Pythian Sisters in Elba. Mrs. Hughey enjoyed quilting, and she loved spending time with her family. She was happiest when her house was full of those she loved.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Charles Lewis “Red” Hughey, whom she married May 12, 1944, and who died October 21, 1992; one son, Evan Jay Hughey, who died May 1, 2015; one sister, Martha “Marty” McAtee; and two brothers, Albert Harley McAtee and Clyde McAtee.
Surviving are her children, Denise H. (Dave) Williams and Melody L. Gray, both of Macksburg, Danny L. (Barb) Hughey of Norton, Ronald A. (Carol) Hughey of Lowell, and Gary W. Hughey of Warner; 13 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and 3 nieces.
Friends may call Wednesday, November 25, 2015, from 2-8PM and Friday, November 27th from 11AM-1PM at McVay-Perkins Funeral Home, 416 East St., Caldwell, where a vigil service will be observed Wednesday at 7:30PM. The funeral service will be observed Friday, November 27th at 1PM with Rev. Fr. Wayne Morris officiating. Burial will follow at Salem Twp. Cemetery in Lower Salem.
