Obituary for Joseph A. Thomas
Joseph A. Thomas, age 58, of Caldwell, Ohio, died Saturday, November 21, 2009, at his home. He was born August 10, 1951, in Zanesville, son of the late Joseph V. and Elizabeth Jean ?Betty? Halahan Thomas. He was a 1969 graduate of St. Joseph Prepatory Seminary in Vienna, West Virginia, and he attended Elgin Community College in Illinois and Ohio University-Zanesville. He was formerly a plant supervisor for Phillips Plastics in Illinois and he was a self-employed contractor, having owned and operated Thomas Builders. He was a member of Corpus Christi Catholic Church in Belle Valley and a member of the Caldwell Eagles. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by one brother, Mark Thomas. He is survived by one daughter, Abigail Jo (Matt) Dyer of Columbus; two sons, Joseph Edward Thomas of Caldwell and Edward Alan Thomas of Belle Valley; his former wife and lifelong friend, Gail Thomas of Caldwell; his brothers and sisters, Suella (Sam) Narotski of Pickerington, John (Margaret) Thomas of New Concord, Patrick Thomas of Richmond, Indiana, Vickie (Steve) Wheldon of New Albany, Loretta (Doug) Roby of Carmel, Indiana, Michael (Debra) Thomas of Columbus, Evelyn Rogers of Boston, Massachusetts, Anita Bradley of Granville, Annette (Ted) Brink of Jacksonville, Florida, and Deborah (Mark) Snode of Pataskala; one grandson, Kade Patrick Thomas of Caldwell; and many nieces and nephews. Friends may call Tuesday, November 24, 2009, from 4-8PM at McVay-Perkins Funeral Home, 416 East Street, Caldwell, where a Christian Scripture service will follow at 8PM. Funeral Liturgy with Mass will be observed Wednesday, November 25th at 11AM at Corpus Christi Catholic Church in Belle Valley with Rev. Fr. Wayne Morris as celebrant. Inurnment will be observed Saturday, November 28th at 9AM at Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Belle Valley.
