Obituary for John William Hughey
John William Hughey, age 78 of Caldwell, died Tuesday afternoon (4/26/2005) at Summit Acres Nursing Home in Caldwell, Ohio. He was born 5/16/1926 in Noble County, Ohio a son of the late John William and Goldie Mabel Goodwill Hughey. He was a 1944 graduate of Macksburg High School and a WWII Army Veteran having served in Europe with the 3rd Army Corp's 149th Field Artillery. Mr. Hughey was a retired machinist with McGraw Edison in Zanesville, Ohio; was Southern Baptist by faith and was a life member of the DAV. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his wife the late Columbia A.Lori Hughey, whom he married 12/10/1946 and who died 9/25/2004; a son Terry W. Hughey who died 6/17/2000; an infant grandson Adam Kimble; 2 brothers Leroy and Dwight Hughey and 1 sister Lillian Leasure. Surviving is 1 daughter Patricia L. Carsey of Florida; 3 son L. Dean (Judy) Hughey of South Olive, James R. (Wendy) Hughey of Caldwell and Marvin W. (Chris) Hughey of Pleasant City; 11 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews. Friends may call Saturday (4/30/2005) from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM at McVay-Perkins Funeral Home in Caldwell where services will be held on Sunday (5/1/2005) at 2:00 PM with Pastor Darrell Chapman and Pastor Gary Jacobs officiating. Burial will follow at Barry's Ridge Cemetery near Caldwell, Ohio.
