Obituary for John Kenneth Shamhart
John Kenneth Shamhart, age 96, of Caldwell, Ohio, died Friday evening (4/4/2003) at Summit Acres Nursing Home in Caldwell. He was born 1/20/1907 in Beaver Township, Noble County, Ohio a son of the late Henry J. and Deborah V. Perkins Shamhart. He retired 1/20/1972 as Manager of Production Credit Association in Cambridge, Ohio where he was responsible for business in Noble, Washington, Morgan and Monroe Counties. He was a member of the Caldwell United Methodit Church, Quaker City Lodge #500 Free and Accepted Masons, Valley of Cambridge Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite Masons, Aladin Temple Shrine in Columbus and the Noble County Chamber of Commerce. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his wife Waunita Knight Shamhart on 11/28/1996; a grandaughter Rachel Fleeman; 3 sisters and 4 brothers. Surviving are 3 daughters Norma L. (John) Rauch of Columbus, Wilda G. Hale of Georgia and June K. (Phil) Fleeman of New Jersey; 3 grandchildren Alan R. Seffens, Matthew and Mark Hale; 2 great grandchildren Cassidy Hale and Shade Seffens. Friends may call Monday (4/7/2003) from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM at McVay-Perkins Funeral Home, 416 East Street, Caldwell, Ohio 43724, where services will be held on Tuesday (4/8/2003) at 1:00 PM with the Rev. Gary Fitzgerald officiating. Burial will follow at Olive Cemetery in Caldwell, Ohio. Memorials may be made to the Caldwell United Methodist Church or Hospice of Guernsey.
