Obituary for John E. McCune
John E. McCune, age 85, of Macksburg, Ohio, died Friday, January 6, 2017, at Summit Acres Nursing Home in Caldwell. He was born September 7, 1931, in Washington County, Ohio, son of the late Joe and Leota Hupp McCune. He retired as a dozer operator for B&N Coal Company. John enjoyed drinking coffee and visiting with his friends at the D&E Drive In, taking rides, hunting, and working on cars.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by one grandson, Ryder McCune; two sisters, June McCune and Betty McCune; and three brothers, Ronald, Donald, and Everett McCune.
Surviving are his wife, Bonnie Ellen Barlow McCune, whom he married July 22, 1972; one daughter, Cindy Jo McCune of Macksburg; one son, James Daniel (Melissa) McCune of Caldwell; two sisters, Nina Leasure and Joann Lincicome, both of Caldwell; three grandchildren, Kaden, Zoey, and Hope; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call Monday, January 9, 2017, from 5-8PM at McVay-Perkins Funeral Home, 416 East Street, Caldwell, where the funeral service will be observed Tuesday, January 10th at 11AM with Pastor Bill Pickenpaugh officiating. Burial will follow at Lund Cemetery in Macksburg.
