Obituary for Joe C. Frederickson
Joe C. Frederickson, age 78, of Caldwell, Ohio, died Monday, August 21, 2017, at his home. He was born September 7, 1938, in Caldwell, son of the late Carl “Whitey” and Matilda King Frederickson. He was a 1956 graduate of Caldwell High School, and he was a United States Air Force veteran. Joe retired in 1994 as an air traffic controller for the Federal Aviation Administration, having been stationed at Kansas City, Oberlin, Wood County, West Virginia, and Zanesville. He was a member of the Caldwell United Methodist Church, and he loved farming, wood crafting, and helping his kids with remodeling projects.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by one sister, Patty Ann Stewart; and one brother, Jack L. Frederickson.
Surviving are his wife, Nellie L. Wheeler Frederickson, whom he married July 31, 1961; three children, Marsha A. (Rob) Schell, Joe A. (Cindy) Frederickson, and P. Brian Frederickson, all of Caldwell; his siblings, Mary Sue (Dean) Banks of Caldwell, Jean M. (Phil) Christianson of Wisconsin, Jane M. Baines, and Joyce (Donald) Mandel, both of Columbus; five grandchildren, Kylie (Michael) Davenport, Trae Schell, Lexy Schell, Sasha (Jamie) Myers, and Dalton Frederickson; one great-granddaughter, Rilynn Myers; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Friends may call Thursday, August 24, 2017, from 4-8PM at McVay-Perkins Funeral Home, 416 East Street, Caldwell, where the funeral service will be observed Friday, August 25th at 11AM with Pastor Jim Garrett officiating. A veteran’s graveside service will follow at Sharon Cemetery conducted by the Noble County Veteran Service Organizations.
