Obituary for Jennie Lynn Baker LaFollette
Jennie Lynn Baker LaFollette, age 69, of Woodsfield, Ohio, died Monday, September 24, 2018, at Marietta Memorial Hospital. She was born March 27, 1949, in Monroe County, daughter of the late Marion Elwood and Melissa Cline Baker. She was a 1967 graduate of Shenandoah High School, and she was formerly employed by NCR in Cambridge and Safe Auto in Woodsfield. Jennie was Protestant by faith. She loved watching her grandson play football and basketball, and she was an Ohio State sports fan. She loved collecting Longaberger baskets and she enjoyed playing bingo.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Thomas L. LaFollette, whom she married December 29, 1993, and who died February 26, 2018; two brothers, Junior Baker and Chan Baker; and her beloved beagle, Buddy.
Surviving are her step-children, Venetia (Jim) Lane of Kent and Lance (Angie) LaFollette and Rod (Sally) LaFollette, all of Woodsfield; 7 grandchildren, Leigh Ann (Eric) Long, Deidre LaFollette (Dee Jackson) , Lindsay (Lucas) Ruffing, and Leah, Justine, Anne, and Ryan LaFollette; 2 great-grandchildren, Kyler and Hunter Jackson; her nieces, Deb Lambert, Brenda Ogden, Joyce Baker, Tresa Davis, Kathy Tanner, and Sue Hannah; and her nephews, Tom Baker, Kenny (Nanette) Baker, and Bill (Christy) Baker.
Friends may call Thursday, September 27, 2018, from 4-8PM at McVay-Perkins Funeral Home, 416 East Street, Caldwell, where the funeral service will be observed Friday, September 28th at 11AM with Rev. Fr. David Gaydosik officiating. Burial will follow at Calais Cemetery.
