Jeffrey A. “Herk” Glidden, Sr., age 68, of Newark, Ohio, died Tuesday, October 10, 2023, at OSU Wexner Medical Center in Columbus. He was born September 14, 1955, in Zanesville, son of the late Rolland Edwin and Delores Rosamund Landaker Glidden. He attended Shenandoah High School and worked on oil rigs and for Woody’s Auto Crushing. Herk was a member of the Newark Moose and loved fishing. If anyone needed help, he was there. He was a good husband, father, and friend.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara L. Moore Glidden, whom he married March 17, 1984; his children, Heather D. (Ronald) Baker of Newark and Jeffery A. Glidden, Jr. (Stephanie Green) of Columbus; 7 grandchildren; one great-grandchild on the way; his siblings, Lisa R. Sanford of Caldwell, Melody E. Lafollette of Sarahsville, Loretta L. Tidd of Caldwell, Ronnie E. (April) Glidden, Jr. of Caldwell, Michael L. Glidden of Crooked Tree, and Gary B. (Tammy) Glidden of Cambridge; one uncle, Charles Kirkbride of McConnelsville; one aunt, Reba Farley of Sarahsville; his best friend, Butch Workman of Newark; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Friends may call Saturday, October 14, 2023, from 11AM-2PM at McVay-Perkins Funeral Home, 416 East Street, Caldwell, where the funeral service will follow visitation at 2PM with Pastor George Clark officiating.
