Obituary for Jeannette Buckey Rowlands
Jeannette Buckey Rowlands, age 84, of Caldwell, Ohio, died Thursday, October 26, 2017, at Summit Acres Nursing Home in Caldwell. She was born February 19, 1933, in Noble County, daughter of the late Everett and Alice Cowgill Rayner. She was a beloved mother and homemaker, and she owned and operated Jeannette’s Mini Mart in Ava for several years. She attended the Ava United Methodist Church and was a member of the Four Square Gospel Church in Cambridge. Jeannette enjoyed quilting, sewing, and working jigsaw puzzles, and she was also an excellent baker.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her first husband, Charles E. Buckey, who died in 1968; her second husband, Rodney W. Rowlands, who died in 1993; four sons: Bill, Ronnie, Randy, and Johnny Buckey; one sister, Eileen Milton; and her step-mother Cecil Rayner.
Surviving are her children, Chery J. (Roger) McElfresh, Danny L. Buckey (Tosha Wolverton), Ricky E. Buckey (Patty Showalter), and Tony C. (Tina) Buckey, all of Caldwell; one sister, Sandy (Sam) McMannis of Mt. Eaton; one brother, Jim Rayner of Canton; one step-sister, Frances "Cricket" (Gene) Matthews of Caldwell; one step-brother, Clifford (Patty) Buckey of Caldwell; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, step-grandchildren; step-great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Friends may call Sunday, October 29, 2017, from 5-8PM at McVay-Perkins Funeral Home, 416 East Street, Caldwell, where the funeral service will be observed Monday, October 30th at 11AM with Ken Perkins officiating.
