Obituary for Jean Oliver
Jean Oliver, age 82, of Akron, Ohio, went home to be with her Savior Monday, April 24, 2017, at her home. She was born February 10, 1935, in Caldwell, daughter of the late Clarence D. and Geneva May Johnson Lowman. She was a beloved mother and homemaker who was known as being caring and generous. She attended Christ Community Church in Akron, and she enjoyed listening to Pastor John Hagee. Jean loved listening to Gaither music and the Oak Ridge Boys. She also enjoyed gardening, shopping, and coming home to visit in Noble County.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Robert Joseph Oliver, whom she married January 31, 1953, and who died January 17, 1999; two sisters, Donna Smith and Garnet Sutherland; and two brothers, Max and Roy Lowman.
Surviving are three children, Karen (Ken) Short, Larry (Brenda) Oliver, and Neva (Derry) Settles, all of Akron; one sister, Bernita Anderson of Chesapeake; two brothers, Claude (Kay) Lowman of Canton and Junior (Tootsie) Lowman of East Canton; 7 grandchildren, Kenny, Kristy, Nathan, Holly, Lawrence, Matthew, and Valerie; several great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and her very special friend and companion, Jim Morgan of Akron.
Friends may call Friday, April 28, 2017, from 1PM-2PM at McVay-Perkins Funeral Home in Caldwell, where the funeral service will follow visitation at 2PM with Ken Perkins officiating. Burial will follow at Sharon Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Summa Hospice at www.summahealth.org.
