Obituary for James Richard "Dick" Farley
James Richard “Dick” Farley, age 91, of Caldwell, died Tuesday, March 24, 2015, at SE Ohio Regional Medical Center in Cambridge. He was born February 11, 1924, in Akron, son of the late Erwin Max “Judd” and Lura Elizabeth Gray Farley. He was a 1942 graduate of Caldwell High School and he attended the Ohio State University. Early in his life, he was employed by Farley Insurance Company and Wehr-Ralston Clothing Store, both of Caldwell. He retired from Fred Raymond Clothing Store in Cambridge, where he worked for many years. Mr. Farley also drove cars and filed titles for Cowgill’s Chevrolet and Caldwell Classic Chevrolet in Caldwell. He was formerly a member of the Caldwell Volunteer Fire Department and the Caldwell Lions Club, and he was a member of the Caldwell United Methodist Church. He was a history buff, enjoyed gardening, and he loved his cars and traveling, including trips to Amish country.
He is survived by his sister, Mary Jane Yontz (Lowell “Duke”) Anderson of Caldwell; two nieces, Susan Yontz of East Lansing, Michigan and Terri Schwab of Powell; two great-nieces, Brooke Schwab and Kara Schwab, both of Powell; and one cousin, Atty. Larry Cecil of Salem.
Friends may call Friday, March 27, 2015, from 6-8PM at McVay-Perkins Funeral Home, 416 East Street, Caldwell, where the funeral service will be observed Saturday, March 28th at 11AM with Pastor Jim Cooper officiating. Burial will follow at Olive Cemetery.
