Obituary for James P. "Bone Man" Courts
James P. “Bone Man” Courts, age 78, of Senecaville, Ohio, went home to be with the Lord Saturday, December 17, 2016, at his home with his family by his side. He was born November 30, 1938, in Stirrat, West Virginia, son of the late Bill and Ruth Littlejohn Courts. He retired in 1999 as a truck driver for A. W. Stadler in Cleveland, and he was a member of the Mt. Ephraim United Methodist Church. Mr. Courts enjoyed hunting, watching wildlife, and caring for his hillside. He loved and enjoyed caring for his family.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Hazel D. Sparks Courts, whom he married December 26, 1965, and who died November 24, 2008; one sister, Carol Adkins; and an infant brother, Robert Courts.
Surviving are his children, Cathy A. (Bruce) Collier of Brunswick, Patricia G. Courts of Cleveland, Linda S. (John) Courts-Gross and David P. Courts, both of Wadsworth; his siblings, Naomi Courts of Danville, West Virginia, Betty Wilkins of Woodstock, Virginia, Barbara Sasser and Billy (Shirley) Courts, both of Romney, West Virginia, Ron (Ollie) Courts of Augusta, West Virginia, Johnny Ray (Lois) Courts of West Hamlin, West Virginia, and Sherlene (Dan) Daily of Barboursville, West Virginia; 5 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, and cousins; and many friends.
Friends may call Tuesday, December 20, 2016,m from 4-8PM at McVay-Perkins Funeral Home, 416 East Street, Caldwell, where the funeral service will be observed Wednesday, December 21st at 11AM with Pastor Jim Porter officiating.
