Obituary for James Michael "Mike" Howiler
James Michael “Mike” Howiler, age 64, of Caldwell, Ohio, died Thursday, December 19, 2019, at his home. He was born August 8, 1955, in Zanesville, son of Elma Marie Bowser Howiler of Caldwell and the late James O. “Jim” Howiler. He was a 1973 graduate of Caldwell High School, and he earned an Associate Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Washington State. Mike retired as a design engineer from the Mahle Corporation following 37 years of service and he was a member of Faith Baptist Church in Belle Valley. He enjoyed woodworking, fishing, and hunting in his younger years, and he loved his dachshunds. Mike was a Christian man who was devoted to his family.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Jeannette L. Chapman Howiler, whom he married October 13, 1973; his children, Kristi A. (Carl) Myers of New Lexington, Jamie L. (Brad) Hamby of Etowah, Tennessee, and Stephanie M. Howiler of New Straitsville; and four grandchildren, Melody B. Howiler, Briawna R. Stalnaker, Ethan Michael Lahmers, and Griffin James Hamby.
Friends may call Saturday, December 21, 2019, from 12PM-2PM at Faith Baptist Church, 200 Grove Road, Belle Valley, where the funeral service will follow visitation at 2PM with Pastor Larry Copley officiating. Burial will follow at Olive Cemetery in Caldwell. McVay-Perkins Funeral Home, 416 East Street, Caldwell is caring for the family.
