Obituary for James L. Mizik
James L. Mizik, age 60, of Belle Valley, Ohio, died Friday, January 27, 2012, at SE Ohio Regional Medical Center in Cambridge. He was born February 11, 1951, in Belle Valley, son of the late John and Arlene Yoho Mizik. He was a 1969 graduate of Shenandoah High School. He built homes with Dean Jennings, worked as a bridge painter, and was formerly employed by Bryan and Smith Excavating. He was a member of the Sons of the American Legion Chapter #641 in Belle Valley. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by one daughter, Melinda Fawn Mizik in 1976; one granddaughter, Deshawna Carol Pekari in 2001; and two brothers, John 'Slick' Mizik and Jeffrey A. Mizik. Surviving are his wife, Carol Patricia Prunty Mizik, whom he married December 23, 1972; four daughters, Kristie L. Lorey and Melissa D. Mizik, both of Belle Valley, Amy J. (William, Jr.) Porter of Caldwell, and Emily A. (Chris) Pekari of Cambridge; one sister, Janet (Ed) Pitner of Belle Valley; one brother, Joe Mizik of Belle Valley; 9 grandchildren; 1 great-grandson; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins. Friends may call Monday, January 30, 2012, from 2-4 and 6-8PM at McVay-Perkins Funeral Home, 416 East Street, Caldwell, where the funeral service will be observed Tuesday, January 31st at 11AM with Ken Perkins officiating. Burial will follow at Halley's Ridge Cemetery.
