Obituary for James E. "Jimmy" Shaw
James E. “Jimmy” Shaw, age 72, of Byesville, Ohio, died suddenly Thursday, October 14, 2021, at SE Ohio Regional Medical Center in Cambridge. He was born December 5, 1948, in Columbus, Ohio, son of the late James A. and Mary K. Hannum Shaw. Jimmy was a 1966 graduate of Shenandoah High School, and he was a United States Army veteran, having served in Vietnam. He retired from Wendy’s International following 35 years of service as a production supervisor at The New Bakery Company in Zanesville. He was a member of Lafayette Lodge #79 F&AM, the Valley of Cambridge, AASR, 32nd degree Mason, the Byesville VFW Post #3760, and the Byesville American Legion Post #116. Jimmy was an avid deer and turkey hunter and he enjoyed golfing.

He is survived by his wife, Rebecca Ann “Becky” Clark Shaw, whom he married July 4, 1992; one daughter, Aimee Jo (Rick) Rosia of Canton; two step-children, Valerie A. (Marty) Wallace of Lebanon and Shawn T. Hamilton of Cumberland; two grandchildren, Sevanah Rosia and Landon Rosia; three step-grandchildren, Kyle D. Foster (fiancé, Summer), Laykin M. Hamilton (Austin Schockling) and Troy C. Hamilton; his siblings, Jeffrey R. (Ella) Shaw and Curt E. (Sally) Shaw, all of Marietta, and Lorrie E. (Al) Lovitz of Hilliard; several nieces, nephews, aunts, and cousins; his golfing buddies; and many friends.

Friends may call Saturday, October 23, 2021, from 1-3PM at McVay-Perkins Funeral Home, 416 East Street, Caldwell, where a Celebration of Life Service will begin at 3PM, which will include Masonic Services and a veteran’s service. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital at www.stjude.org. Due to current Covid conditions, guests are asked to follow recommended safety guidelines at all gatherings.
