Obituary for James C. Nickelson, Sr.
James C. Nickelson, Sr., age 68, of Caldwell, Ohio, died Friday, April 17, 2020, at SE Ohio Regional Medical Center in Cambridge. He was born March 22, 1952, in Wooster, son of the late Clayton and Ethel Ray Nickelson. He was a 1970 graduate of Wooster High School. Jim was employed as a driver for Buckey Disposal in Belle Valley for nearly 30 years, where he loved his job. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle, mowing his yard, and going to the Wheeling Island Casino. He loved spoiling his grandhchildren, and he was devoted to his family.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by one sister, Judith Watson.

Surviving are his children, Shauna M. Elliott of Port Washington, James C. (Angelia) Nickelson, Jr., of Huntsville, North Carolina, and Travis L. (Erica) Nickelson of Chesterfield, Michigan; his siblings, Shawn Roberts of Pahrump, Nevada, and Charles (Sally) Nickelson, Kathy (Russell) McDermott, and Tom (Betty) Nickelson, all of Wooster; his partner of 17 years, Beverly S. Carter; 7 grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

With public safety in mind, the funeral service will be for immediate family only on Wednesday, April 22, 2020, at 11AM. However, friends may come and support the family from their cars and process to Greenwood Cemetery in Byesville for the committal service. The funeral service will be officiated by Pastor Larry Copley. Memorial contributions may be made to the Susan G. Komen Foundation at ww5.komen.org for breast cancer research.
