Obituary for Jacob Irvil Boney
Jacob Irvil Boney, age 99, of Caldwell, Ohio, went to be with the Lord Tuesday, July 29, 2014, at The Beckett House in New Concord. He was born July 8, 1915, near Hoskinsville, son of the late John and Ina McKee Boney. He was a 1933 graduate of Caldwell High School, and he proudly served in the United States Army Air Force in the European Theater in World War II. An avid farmer most of his life, Irvil “loved those angus.” He retired in 1984 from Ball’s Supermarket in Caldwell, and he was a member of Ragan’s Chapel Church, where he enjoyed teaching Sunday School for many years.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by four sisters, Guila (Clem) Garvin, Belva (Albert) Marshall, Edna (Willard) Smith, and Clarice (Fred) Zimmerman; one brother, Thomas Ancil (Gladys) Boney; and one nephew, Mark Boney.
Surviving are his wife, Lola Irene Schneeberger Boney, whom he married November 7, 1964; one daughter, Lola (David) Todd; two granddaughters, Lola LeeAnn Darnell and Alisha Mary Darnell; many nieces and nephews; and his dear friends and neighbors, James and BethAnn Miley and family of Caldwell.
Friends may call Thursday, July 31, 2014, from 2-4 and 6-8PM at McVay-Perkins Funeral Home, 416 East Street, Caldwell, where the funeral service will be observed Friday, August 1st at 2PM. A veteran’s graveside service will follow at Dudley Cemetery conducted by the Noble County Veteran’s Service Organizations.
