Obituary for Irma Kathryn Wheeler
Irma Kathryn Wheeler, age 88, of Pleasant City, Ohio, died Saturday, June 4, 2011, at her home. She was born August 7, 1922, in Pleasantville, Fairfield County, Ohio, daughter of the late George Chilcote and Grace Beatrice Berry Sanford. She was a 1940 graduate of Sarahsville High School, and she was formerly employed by the Noble County Extension Office. She retired from The Agricultural Stabilization and Conservation Office formerly located in Caldwell. She was also a Buffalo Twp. poll worker. Mrs. Wheeler enjoyed crocheting and spending time with her grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Paul Wayne Wheeler, whom she married April 28, 1945, and who died February 19, 2004.
Surviving are one daughter, Linda K. Van Fleet of Pleasant City; one son, Kenneth A. Wheeler of McConnellsville, three grandchildren, Eric (Steffany) Van Fleet, Andrea L. Van Fleet, and Ben A. (Jennifer) Van Fleet, all of Pleasant City; five great-grandchildren, Branson and Nathan Van Fleet, Judd Carpenter, and Abby and Molly Van Fleet; two brothers, Lorin (Eleanor) Sanford of Caldwell and Donald (Pat) Sanford of Rockford, Illinois; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call Tuesday from 2-4 and 6-8PM at McVay-Perkins Funeral Home, 416 East Street, Caldwell, where the funeral service will be observed Wednesday at 11AM with Rev. Melvin Sydebotham officiating. Burial will follow at Village View Cemetery, Sarahsville. Memorial contributions may be made to Hopsice of Guernsey, P. O.
