Iola F. DeLancey, age 82, formerly of Cumberland, Ohio, and a resident of Norwich, Ohio, died Monday, July 23, 2007, at her residence. She was born December 6, 1924, in Canton, Ohio, daughter of the late Melvin Sheridan and Roxie Mae Albright Weekley. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Forrest W. DeLancey, who died February 19, 1979; her adoptive parents, Bruce and Ruth Hinchliffe; one daughter-in-law, Wanda Kay DeLancey; one sister, Dorsie Vogt; one brother-in-law, Mickie Vogt; one brother, Grover Weekley; and two grandsons, Larry and Gary DeLancey. Surviving are four daughters, Carolyn (Bill) Ivey of Cumberland, Barbara (Dennis) O'Connell of Duncan Falls, Joyce DeLancey (Wayne Garver) of Norwich, and Phyllis (Paul) Critchlow of Pennsylvania; two sons, Larry DeLancey of Cumberland and Forrest (Missy) DeLancey, Jr. of Tennessee; one brother, Kromer (Dolly) Weekley of Canton; one sister-in-law, Bonnie Weekley of Iowa; 16 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Friends may call Friday, July 27, 2007, from 4-8PM at McVay-Perkins Funeral Home, Caldwell, where the funeral service will be held Saturday, July 28th at 1PM. Burial will follow at Cumberland Cemetery, Cumberland. Memorials may be made to Genesis Hospice and Palliative Care, 713 Forest Ave., Zanesville, Ohio 43701.
