Obituary for Ida Lucille Marquis
Ida Lucille Marquis, age 91, of Caldwell, Ohio, died Thursday, January 21, 2010, at Summit Acres Nursing Home, Caldwell. She was born March 30, 1918, in Hoskinsville, daughter of the late Charles Willoughby and Weltha Mae Harbaugh Cain, Sr. She was retired from the former Sharon General Store in Sharon, where she began her employment in 1954. She was a member of the Sharon Presbyterian Church, and she was also a member of the Mystery Club and the Mothers Club, both of Sharon. Mrs. Marquis was an artist and painter of pictures, and she enjoyed crocheting, knitting, and working crossword and jigsaw puzzles. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, James Reed Marquis, whom she married March 6, 1935, and who died July 24, 2004; and one brother, Paul (Bea) Cain. She is survived by one daughter, Barbara Hannahs of Zanesville; one son, Dave (Virginia) Marquis of Pickerington; three sisters, Edna Wiley of Sharon and Virginia Walker and Flossie Lee, both of Canton; one brother, Charles Willoughby (Roberta) Cain, Jr. of Quaker City; 9 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; 19 great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Friends may call Saturday, January 23, 2010, from 2-8PM at McVay-Perkins Funeral Home, 416 East Street, Caldwell, where the funeral service will be observed Sunday, January 24th at 2PM with Pastor Helen Lewis officiating. Burial will follow at Sharon Cemetery.
