Obituary for Hugh Archer Walters

Hugh Archer Walters, age 74, of Caldwell, Ohio, died Monday, March 13, 2007, at his home. He was born January 27, 1933, in Cambridge, Ohio, son of the late Dr. L.B. and Marjorie Smith Walters. He was a 1953 graduate of Caldwell High School, where he was a basketball standout. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran, having served in the Korean War with his twin brother, Roger Walters. He was employed as an airline transportation agent with Western Airlines, living in Phoenix, Arizona, West Yellowstone, Montana, Salt Lake City, Utah, and ultimately returning to Ohio. Western Airlines later merged with Delta Airlines, from which he retired after 37 years of service. He was a member of the Noble County Historical Society. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his twin brother, Roger, and a sister, Marcella. Surviving are his wife, Deleen Thueson Walters, whom he married January 10, 1974; his children, Sherry (Joseph) Riley of Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, Kent (Ali) Klingler of Boise, Idaho, Bob (Billie) Klingler, Terese (Alan) Nield, and Denise Jones, all of Idaho Falls, Idaho; 14 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Elaine (Joseph) Lavelle of Troy and Ardie Clifford of Columbus; and eight nieces and nephews. Friends may call Friday, March 16, 2007, from 7-8:30PM at McVay-Perkins Funeral Home, Caldwell, where the funeral service will be held Saturday, March 17 at 1PM. Veterans services will be conducted by the Noble County Veteran Services Organization.
